I own the Nippon/Savoy version of this CD, which has 9 tracks.

I knew there was a 'Body And Soul' out-take which was on later CD issues, but it was not worth buying a new CD for that one track.

iTunes has two versions of this material, both of which have 'Body And Soul'. One is the recent Timeless CD (with the yucky cover), the other is also called Jazz Composers' Workshop. I bought the one on Timeless (3:09) to have a complete CD in my iPod (and deleted the yucky cover). BUT, the other version is listed in iTunes as 'alternate take 1, previously unreleased'. The timing is close (3:07), and from the 30 second sound clips they sound the same.

So, the question is:

Is the 3:07 version an alternate of the 3:09 version, or are these the same take?
