Monk in the Morning

So as not to wake my son's teenage friends who are sleeping all over the house this morning I didn't grind fresh coffee but snuck out to Starbucks for a double/tall/per-cent/cap. As I walked in I hear what's obvously Monk soloing and by the time I get to the register it becomes clear that it's a quartet version of Straight No Chaser. I place my order and tell the barrista or whateverthe hell they call them that it's great to hear Monk in the morning. He obviously has no idea what I'm talking about and looks at me like I'm crazy. So what; it's still a great way to start the day.

Maybe he thought you were talking about the singing monks from Greece. Thelonious sounds nothing like them, hence you must be crazy!
