Ron S Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 And here's some good ole jazzbo. I have a mint first edition of this. Of course, I also have a bunch of reading copies (I keep wearing them out). Quote
ghost of miles Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 I liked this one when it came out, in 1997; it's even more haunting now: Quote
ghost of miles Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 I really dig the old Modern Library covers (circa 1940-1960), but I haven't ponied up yet for the Dogeared page & can't access the dustjacket images. They had some great ones, especially in the 1940s. Quote

Harold_Z Posted October 19, 2005 Author Report Posted October 19, 2005 (edited) Here's Another Mike Shayne. I dug the one "Man With The Golden Arm" posted earlier. I had this when I was a kid - it may have been among the first Private Eye Mysteries I ever read. I think I was prompted by a series of early 40s Mike Shayne movies that were being played on TV. Anybody remember those ? Lloyd Nolan was terrific as Mike. Edited October 19, 2005 by Harold_Z Quote

I did not realize that Motherwell alluded to Kline like that. I did get an A- on my Kline Art History term paper. Al no doubt got an A! Quote
