I didn't know there was a 2000 Lp series by Fantasy .....

Mike, I just noticed this thread. I'm curious, have you learned anything more about this? I was not aware of a 2000 series either. He showed no close-up of the label, so I wonder if he made an error with regard to the LP #

That thing sold for only $5.50?

I asked him for a track list - it was identical to the other issues with that title. Doesn't seem to be an error. Cover is different, too, I know of two other designs.

I guess I tend not to trust information like that until I see some kind of evidence. Kind of hard to hide a whole series (2000) from the history books... but then I've only checked a few sources.

Fantasy was not researched as thoroughly as other jazz labels, probably due to the rather large amount of non-jazz releases. One would have to check hundreds of old Schwann catalogues to complete the listings found here. (I will ask them for that series.)
