Jazzmoose Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Yeah, I know; anyone here who would want this already has it, but what the heck...I'm just bragging about figuring out how to sell anyway... ebay Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I'm pathetic. I've bought hundreds of items on eBay, but never have sold anything. I really need to figure out how to do that one of these days. Quote

Guest Chaney Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Questions for first time eBay seller mr._mooster: Your listing states: CD gently used, looks mint. Is the CD used? Also, is that a green mint, or a white mint, like in a York peppermint patty? Classic guitar jazz fusion. I don't understand. Is this classical music of jazz music? Can you explain? Your listing states: Available to United States Only. Will ship to United States. Question: Will you ship to Buffalo, New York? Will you use a box or padded envelope? If I win, can I pay you next week Friday? Do you accept PayPal? Do I pay you in American dollars? Can we maybe work out a trade? Quote
robviti Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) i'm not sure why you decided to begin your ebay selling experience with this particular disc. i'm not commenting on the quality of the music. it's just that it's readily available and not a valuable title. you probably could have gotten $4 in trade at your local used cd store. then you'd save yourself the trouble of shipping it, paying ebay their fees, paying the paypal transaction fee, etc. Edited November 1, 2005 by jazzshrink Quote

robviti Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 that's how much you get for store credit, not cash? ouch! are you sure that's not because the cd features al diarrhea, i mean dimeola? Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) OK, maybe $3 trade. Jazz CD's ain't worth all that much in this town, in terms of trade-in value. The following are typical trade-credit values (average)... $3 if it's Miles or Trane, or some other name they maybe might have heard of. $2 if it's somebody they never heard of, but it's on Blue Note, or maybe some other label they've seen a whole bunch of times. $1 if it's somebody they've never heard of, on a label they've never heard of. Remember, it's kids running most of these places, and they have no idea what's what when it comes to jazz (for the most part). Edited November 1, 2005 by Rooster_Ties Quote

If it doesn't sell, and I'm out thirty cents, oh well. And finally (and the REAL reason) it was the first disc I came to on the shelf that I didn't give a rats ass about giving up... Quote
Brownian Motion Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) I'd bid for it 'cept I already own it. But I wouldn't be keen on sending money to the city of Pineville, LA. Sounds like a black hole. Isn't there a bigger city nearby, like Bogalusa, Lafayette, or Algiers whose greater metropolitan area you can pretend to be part of?
