mrjazzman Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Looking for the Miles Davis March 21 concert at Olympia Paris w/Trane............ Quote
Claude Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Was that concert on the 20th or the 21th? The Miles discography says 21th: http://www.plosin.com/milesAhead/Sessions.aspx?s=600321 But the cover of the Delta Music 2CD reissue says 20th The 2CD set is available from jpc.de for 7 Euro. http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/jazz/detail/-/hnum...azz/rsk/hitlist Quote
Rosco Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Every discog I've seen has it as the 21st. If you can still get it, go for the one on the French Trema label, En Concert Avec Europe 1. 4CDs, two of the gig with Trane and two with Sonny Stitt from a gig in October that year. These were discussed in a couple of recent threads. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Man, I've never seen that four cd set, I tried to find it for a long time, but it came out when the Davis estate was really clamping down on imports of Davis concerts. I did get all four discs separately in the excellent Sony/Trema digipak series of these concerts. Sounded better than other Europe 1 cds I had too. If you can find those they're very nice (even though their cover photos are a bit whack on a few). Quote

Delta Music also has a 2CD set with the Miles/Stitt concert. The transfer on these CD is very good, and they're cheap. http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/jazz/detail/-/hnum...azz/rsk/hitlist Quote

Delta must have been careless. A reminder also this was no bootleg but an official release from the Europe 1 radio station that organized this (and many other) concerts! Quote
