I deleted it because you were whining about me posting 7 times in the How's the Weather? thread. WTF are you reading the damm thing if you have a problem with it? The other comment was about me complaining about it being cold in NYC in December -> we had a cold snap, the temp was 14 degrees below normal.

i gotta disagree with my honourable colleague from Queens here-- fuck the MTA. while this is not quite a case of good v. evil, the TWU is by faaaaaaaaaaar the lesser evil here. forget that you don't have to move yr car while the strike is on, think of the idiotic fare discount that was passed t-giving to new year's on weekends. how the HELL does that benefit? new yorkers, or tourists who'd spend a little extra $$$ anyway? you were out west during MTA's constant lying about the surplus <---> deficit <---> surplus <---> deficit... well, which is it? answer: it's whatever they want it to be, depending on the politcal expediency. anything that makes Bloomberg squirm is worth it to me too; maybe i'll walk to J&R and smoke in front of city hall later just to celebrate. see also -->

Clem, buddy I hear ya, and I'm not saying the MTA is the good guy in all this. But, I am saying the TWU did not have to strike. It's waaaay to costly to local business and people just trying to get around. They don't even have the support of the mother union. This could very well bankrupt local 100 when it's all said and done. How smart is that? Who the hell is going to cover the wages striking workers are losing?
