ghost of miles Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Don't be a stranger, man! Nate is a wonderful trombonist who's traveled back & forth between Texas and Indiana in recent years, working closely with David Baker as an AI at the IU School of Music. Very cool guy, and I hope he starts posting here if he can find the time. Hope you have a great day, and a Curtis Fuller CD is still coming your way. Quote
Guest Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Swell -- thanks for remembering. If I hadn't been so loathe to leave Ma's womb, I could have shared a birthday with JJ. As it was, I put Ma through 20 hours of labor, so I share today with Django & Gary Burton, among others. The show is getting better all the time -- the Charles Tolliver and Stanley Cowell show was KILLIN'! I'd never heard any of those tracks before - just beautiful. Yes, let's get together for a lunch -- have to be a Saturday, or right after a concert with DB on a MW or F. Thanks, Dave. Quote
