Hardbopjazz Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 (edited) Anyone here who wrote this tune? I can't even tell you who is playing it. Edited February 2, 2006 by Hardbopjazz Quote
Jim R Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Are you sure about the title? Google finds nothing for that, and nothing for "A Ditty for a city"... Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 Yes, in fact the title is given before they paly it. Quote

Jim R Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Yes, in fact the title is given before they paly it. Whaddya mean, "yes"? Your original thread title said "Didi", not "Ditty". Or was it "Diti"?... Whatever. Edited February 2, 2006 by Jim R Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 Someone sent me this show. He wanted to know if I could figure out the musicians are. I got all the titles down but I have no idea who they are. No names are ever mentioned. The shows swings its ass off. I would want to think the leader is the drummer. He takes solos in 4 of the 5 tunes. You have to lead a band as a drummer to solo in most tunes I would think. Quote
Jim R Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Here's "A Ditty For The Kitty". Which is a little different from "A Diti For A City"... that's all I'm sayin'. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 Maybe I can zip or convert the show to flac and send it to someone via www.yousendit.com. Any takers? Quote
Tom Storer Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Maybe I can zip or convert the show to flac and send it to someone via www.yousendit.com. Any takers? This wouldn't be a quintet with tenor sax and trombone, by any chance? Quote
