Rooster_Ties Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 pfeh... Cheap bastards... 15% sure isn't much of an employee discount. (Not complaining about it only being 15% for the general public, but if that's really the ACTUAL employee discount...) 20% would be something -- 25% would really be something. 15% isn't even worth the time of day. I'm about half sure there were a couple brick and mortars stores around here (KC) that had 20% as their standard employee discount. And there was one store that around the holidays -- for a couple days in December -- it jumped up to 30%. 15% - that ain't hardly nothin'. Quote
BeBop Posted February 9, 2006 Author Report Posted February 9, 2006 That's 15% PLUS free shipping to you pal! Quote
tatifan Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Does Tower add sales tax for shipment to every state in which they have a store? The free shipping and various discounts have to compete against TX sales tax for me, and being in Houston, I don't even have the benefit of having one of those stores anywhere near me. It's pretty sad when one has to turn to Borders as the cd emporium of choice in one of the larger cities in the country! Quote

Struth, in 1960 I worked at Harrods; we got a staff discount of 5%. And that was on Harrods prices! MG Quote

BERIGAN Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 In the late 90's at least, Borders offered 25% for employees, 33% off for part-timers(Full timers got $30 bucks a month book credit then as well!) and for Employee appreciation day, you got 40% off! Quote
