nbell38 Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 This guitar player was the last guitar student, ever, of the legendary blues/jass player W.P. Mosely. He virtually vanished from the music scene in 1973 or thereabouts. The only remaining recording is a compilation of bluesy tunes (with Captain Beefheart overtones) called "Popcorn Pie," which includes such favorites as "Filmore Avenue Blues," "Cowboy Beans," and, of course, "Popcorn Pie." OK, Google fans. Who is it? I really need to get this question done but I can't find any info by myself..... can anyone help me out a bit? Quote
nbell38 Posted April 29, 2006 Author Report Posted April 29, 2006 Still need help.... any help or leads would be awesome... I can't find anyhting on any of those names or songs.... Quote
catesta Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 If you don't know who it is how do you know he/she vanished from the scene in 1973? How do you know he/she was a student of the lengendary W.P. Mosely? Who is W.P. Mosely? Quote
JSngry Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 I got no relevant Google hits on the song titles, and nothing on AMG re:W.P. Mosely. Quote
Randy Twizzle Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 (edited) Is he one of these guys? Edited April 29, 2006 by Randy Twizzle Quote
nbell38 Posted May 1, 2006 Author Report Posted May 1, 2006 (edited) Is he one of these guys? I don't know lol.... the reason I know that he disappeared is because this was a question on a music midterm and the answer cannot be found anywhere.....I've found small amounts of info, but its all useless because it never leads to the answer..... catesta Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 My first question would have been, who the hell is W.P. Mosely? On order to be considered "legendary" somebody needs to know who you are, no? Was this multiple choice, and was one of the answers "none of the above", or just plain "bullshit" ? Quote

I have found small amounts of info and yes W.P. Mosely is "legendary" many artists have dedicated songs to him.... the reason nobody knows about him is because I don't think he is an artist himself, I think he is only a teacher.... I think there is more to it then we see.. for instance maybe Filmore Avenue Blues has something to do with Filmore "Street" Blues? It is a Neuropsychology exam......it must be messin with our heads?
