Jazzmoose Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Has everyone noticed how blazingly fast the search function is here? Particularly in comparison to the search function at an extinct board that a lot of us used to frequent? I am seriously impressed! Quote
Big Wheel Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Keep in mind that this board still has far fewer posts than the BN board did. I'm guessing that's one reason why it's faster here--not as many threads to search. But yeah, overall this board software beats the crap out of that version of UBB. I haven't noticed one bug yet. Son-of-a-Weizen Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Okay, earlier today I posted a sentence mentioning: Turrentine's Z.T.'s Blues Why is it that the search function won't home in on this exact title....or even a variation of it like Turrentine's Blues? Quote
Big Wheel Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Are you using quotation marks around your phrase? Quote
Big Wheel Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Ok, I just tried searching myself for that post. The most successful method for me was searching for "blues AND Turrentine" (no quotation marks in the original). I'm not sure quotation marks work on this search feature like they do in others. Some other observations: 1) You can't search for just "Z.T." because the search terms must have at least 5 characters. 2) Part of the problem might be the apostrophe--I know certain applications have trouble with them.
