sidewinder Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 anyone know what an original label pressing of u.k. version looks like? Good question. My guess is that this would have originally been issued in the UK on Fontana (an imprint of Philips), as UK CBS didn't start operating until around 1965/66. Certainly, this is the case with 'Miles Ahead' and 'Porgy and Bess'. Quote

Not clear, however, whether this would have been a French issue. 2 catalogue numbers quoted - 682 059 TL and 885 113 TY. May be mono & stereo versions; may be from different European countries. JohnS Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 I had one of these from the off. Definitely Fontana, black and silver label and thick board jacket. Sleeve note by Benny Green if memory serves. Quote
