jazzbo Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I should have brought this in to work (but it's on my iPod now so no need for music's sake) but I got this in last night, put it on the system this morning over coffee, and really enjoyed the sound. But. . . .I was reading the notes and if I'm not mistaken it mentions "Judgment" as having Davis and Haynes as a rhythm section. It talks of three lps with that section, "Black Fire," "Smokestack" and "Judgment." Umm. . . isn't Elvin Jones the powerful and sensitive trapsmeister on "Judgment"? Quote
jazzbo Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Posted July 26, 2006 Thanks. I'm not crazy then. . . at least not over this. I should have brought the liner notes in to be sure that is what it said. I'm having "one of those weeks" (back at work for a few weeks, which is GREAT, maybe I'm just not used to being happy!) Quote
md655321 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 (edited) The notes are definitely wrong. Hill should have played an Ab for the first note of his solo, but he plays A natural. When are these crazy kids gonna stop with the dissonance and play nice music? Edited July 26, 2006 by md655321 Quote
