Jazz Kat Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 I'm looking for a complete Brubeck Quartet discography on Columbia records. Preferably with a cover art gallery. Does anyone know if it exists, or know a link they can give me? Much appreciated!! Quote

yul Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 I'd like to see a new boxed set: The complete Columbia studio session of Dave Brubeck Quartet. A Mosaic maybe? Any interest? Quote
jazzbo Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Yo, that would be massive! I'd rather just see Columbia reissues of the remaining not on cd. Time to play some Brubeck! Quote
MartyJazz Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Here are a couple: http://brubeck.info/discog/Labels.html http://www.jazzdisco.org/brubeck/cat/ Both discographies fail to note that on the ANGEL EYES session of July 2, 1962, two different takes of "Will You Still be Mine" were done. The mono LP (CL 2348) has a substantially longer and quite different take than the version on the stereo LP (CS 9148). Having owned the stereo LP for many years, I made this discovery when I found a clean mono discard copy at my local library, took it home, and was quite surprised to discover the equally excellent alternate take on the mono LP. The playing time listed in one of the discographies above is for the take on the stereo LP. Quote
Rosco Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 MartyJazz has just reminded me of something... I have a 7" single of Brubeck's Take Five that is not the take used on the album. Never seen it listed in any discographies. I assume it dates from the same sessions, though. Anyone? Quote
