dave9199
For anyone nearby, this place has a small restaraunt attached and has jazz every Friday night for a $7 cover. You can also tell the band you want to play with them. I got up and played drums for the first time on a jazz song. It was a blur to me. I was just hangin' on and played adequately. I couldn't get my mind out of a regular rock type beat, I was too nervous, but I'm glad I did it. Jazz is fucking scary the first time!!! The song was called Just In Time. I have no idea if I even had heard the song before. Edited March 18, 2007 by dave9199

'Just In Time' was composed by Jule Styne for the 1956 musical 'Bells Are Ringing' that starred Judy Holliday! It's also a jazz classic by now. Gene Ammons, Lee Morgan, Barney Kessel, Gerry Mulligan and Sonny Rollins have recorded it. Among others...
