it pains me to recommend a book which depicts a close friend as a rapist and likely murderer and an overall sociopath, but reality must, on occassion, win out. This is simply one of the best jazz books I have ever read; as literature it is disjointed and episodic, but than, so is life. Fascinating stuff, a great read. Devastating to me personally but I'll just have to get over it.
