medjuck Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Shit I missed it again. Beverly married Freddie Slack and (I think) ended ehr days here in Santa Barbara. Great version of A Train which has been on youTube. If anyone knows this is on again please give some warning. Quote
ghost of miles Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Yep--posted that version of "A Train" to the Night Lights When Betty Met the Duke page. How's the Basie number? Quote
Pete B Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 I managed to get this on dvd-r. Previously I only had a rather poor videocassette of it from a collector friend. The Ellington and Basie segments are very nice. I particularly liked watching Ray Nance do his "showtime" routine. Quote
medjuck Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) About a week after my last post on this topic I visited a friend in NY who handed me a DVD-R he'd made from the broadcast! Didn 't know anything about this thread or this board, just thought I might be interested. It's better to be lucky than smart. (And having some good friends is even better) Edited September 13, 2007 by medjuck Quote
