ajf67 Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I'm going to see Bud Shank at Blues Alley Thursday night. Has anyone seen him live recently and know what he is up to these days? Quote
Templejazz Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I'm interested as well, he'll be in Philly this Friday at Chris' Jazz Cafe on 15th & Sansom. Quote
Peter Johnson Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Yeah--are you thinking of going? I'm also contemplating hearing Terasson's trio at the art museum, but am leaning in favor of seeing Bud since I think Jacky's going to be with us a lot longer... Quote
pryan Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I saw him a couple years ago, along with Pete Christleib. At that time, he really blew; two sets of intense stuff. Not sure if he's had any health-related problems since then. I believe SoulStation saw him fairly recently (ie. in the past six months or so). You might want to hear his opinions on Shank's playing of late. Quote

I've never heard him and don't know much about him but it's his first visit to Philly since the mid 50's so I may check it out. Sounds like it should be a blast. Quote
ajf67 Posted September 10, 2003 Author Report Posted September 10, 2003 Soulstation, Thanks for posting that previous thread with all the notes. I'm really looking forward to this. Quote
