One of the true giants is here in NY to play the Blue Note. Does he still have anything left? I thought of going. Johnny Griffin is one of my all time favorite jazz musicians.

Anyone planning to attend one of the sets?

I saw him 2 years ago and he was good. He got decent reviews for a recent show in London. He doesn't do as much uptempo material as he used to, but he was still great on ballads. If I was in NYC, I would probably go just to see a legend. (He is a lot shorter than I imagined.)

That's why they call him "the Little Giant."

I saw him at the Regattabar in Cambridge several times during the '80s and '90s, to great reward. I'd love to hear in person again.
