Jazzmoose Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 My first thought was "what a kook" until I noticed the "against Russians" subtitle. Who knows... Quote
MoGrubb Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 ..Waske said he was approached by a Russian, whom he has refused to name, who told him that Haas had been poisoned in Moscow.... .Could be true, who knows? Some sort of poisoning is usually what causes the runs. A real trouper would've just donned a Depends and sucked it up, chalked it up to a bad case of the runs. Quote
Dan Gould Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 The fact that tennis is in the middle of a "throwing matches" controversy and, while I haven't paid enough attention to be sure, I believe that some of the players under suspicion are Russian or threw matches to Russian players, makes it easier to believe that something like this might have happened. Who knows, maybe some Russian gamblers couldn't get him to throw a Davis Cup tie, or figured that he wouldn't, and did the next best thing. Quote
MoGrubb Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 It could be that a Russian(s) got wind(no pun intended) of Tommy Haas' case of the runs and is just playing mind games. Quote
