sidewinder Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 (edited) In a panel discussion yesterday, Charles Tolliver raved about the merits of vinyl, said there was absolutely nothing to compare with it and admitted that he still had several decks at home which got lots of use. When asked about the early Blue Note sessions he also admitted that his knees were knocking big time before his first Jackie McLean session ('It's Time' presumably) and that he had to steady them. Got a quick chance to ask the great man about forthcoming Mosaic plans. Not too much given away but it looks like there might be a Select under way with Stanley Cowell/John Hicks Strata-East material. Edited November 20, 2007 by sidewinder Quote
Stefan Wood Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 That's great! Hopefully more Strata East to follow...... Quote
sidewinder Posted November 23, 2007 Author Report Posted November 23, 2007 For anyone interested, the Tolliver concert will be broadcast by BBC 'Jazz On 3' tonight. There was mention also of a 'possible' video of the concert to be available for view on the BBC website via broadband later in the year. Quote
