stew3859 Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 I just played for the first time The Art farmer Septet " Plays The Arrangements of Gigi Gryce and Quincy Jones". The theme running through the first cut, "Work of Art"e is distinctly remininiscent of Coltrane's classic. Is anyone else familiar with this title? Might this be more than coincidental? The Art Farmer record was cut in June '54; Coltrane's ten years later in Dec. '64. What do you afficiandos think? Quote
