Uncle Skid Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Will be tuning in (or taping)... looks like a great show, Lazaro. I'm particularly interested in hearing the tracks from the 2007 Grand Rapids show -- I was sitting less than 10 feet from Barry, and it was truly a memorable experience. "Those are my hands on those records!". On a personal note, it was Altschul's playing that led me to dig (much) deeper into Braxton, with a few gentle nudges from Chuck, as well. Nice photo, Tom! Guest Bill Barton Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Excellent show by the looks! Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the pic! And thanks for tuning in: we had one of our biggest on-line audiences in some time for this program. Skid, what did you think of the live stuff? Not a great recording but a hell of a performance. Uncle Skid Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Skid, what did you think of the live stuff? Not a great recording but a hell of a performance. I'm just amazed by the HUGE sound that Swell gets out of that trombone, even when it's pointed towards the floor. Filled up the entire room... heck, I think it could have filled a room 10 times that size, easily. That drum solo on "For Grachan" is outstanding! Thanks for another great show, Lazaro, and for bringing these great musicians to West Michigan. Quote
