medjuck Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 The new issue of Coda magazine arrived in the mail the other day and it's got their year end "best of" lists and I see that Nate Dorward and Ken Dryden are contributors. There may be other members of this board who have lists in the issue but I haven't looked at it very carefully yet. Looks like a good issue with a long piece on Dodo Marmarosa. Quote

It's good to see the piece on Dodo Marmarosa. Those photos alone are worth the price of the issue! CODA is on a definite upswing these days. Andrew Scott is doing a fine job as editor. Quote
Nate Dorward Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Haven't got a copy myself! But did see it on the newsstands. Already regretting some omissions.... in particular Elliott Sharp & Charlotte Hug's pi:k (my only excuse being that Emanem is so prolific of first-rate records that it's hard to keep up sometimes!) Guest Bill Barton Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Who wrote the Dodo piece? Trevor Tolley Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 (edited) Oh. It's not bad but it's not *great* either. Anyone already familiar with Marmarosa probably won't find any "revelations" here. And Herbie Steward's name is consistently spelled "Stewart" (minor quibble but a quibble nonetheless.)
