LCD or Plasma??

I watch lots of sports- and I'd like to avoid the blurring I get watching basketball fast breaks on the 19 inch LCD I bought a year ago.

The max size I can fit is 42 inches.

Also- I have Directv and the local channels aren't HD- they will be later this year (I hope) so I'm stuck watching conventional on the new TV.

What do you have??

I'm contemplating doing this too, and my research seems to lead to the LCD as the option of choice. It's my understanding the "blurry" problem has been fixed in later models. I'm looking at something in the 37"- 40" range. Prices have been coming down steadily, and it may be time to take action soon; as far as recommended brands, I'd be interested to hear from those who have experience. I think there was a thread about this at some point, but the technology has been evolving so quickly it's probably out of date already.

Good luck!

Sony's W3000 series of LCDs are nice. Mitsubishi's LCDs are nice too. I love mine.

Don't eliminate the Pioneer and Panasonic plasmas. Both have beautiful pictures and are a lot less susceptible to burn-in. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd probably get a Pioneer Kura 1080p plasma.

We recently bought a new model Panasonic 32"LCD, model No. TH-32LX75S Viera, and are well satisfied, I can't find anything negative to say about it.

Of course the picture is fantastic, using a HDMI cable link, all our dvds look far better than on the old Hitachi and hi def broadcasts are eye poppingly 3 dimensional.

Here's a link-
