Don Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 (edited) I'm going to contact some labels & artists directly, but I wanted to put out a general thread to get in touch with folks. I do a 3 hour all-instrumental show every week on WRFL (88.1FM) in Lexington, KY. The show is mostly jazz (with some orchestral/chamber music and other things, as long as there are no vocals!), but I tend to play older stuff because I don't have copies of newer releases to play. So if you're a contemporary jazz group or label, I want to play your music and find an audience for it here in Central Kentucky! There are two other jazz shows on the station plus a modern composition show, a world show for international releases, and other more general format shows that would spin your stuff as well. A lot of the programming on WRFL is for lack of a better term 'indie rock', but there are a good number of general format DJs who focus on playing avant-garde, noise, and improvised music. There is also a jazz playbox in the main studio room for people to play cds from. You can private message me or contact me via the station if you'd be into sending music: Don Antenen c/o WRFL- 88.1 FM PO Box 777 University Station University of Kentucky Lexington, KY 40506-0025 (edited to add - you can check out the playlist of my show here - http://www.wrfl.fm/playlist?dj=Don ) Edited February 28, 2008 by Don Quote

Don Posted February 28, 2008 Author Report Posted February 28, 2008 You need another Lee Morgan CD, like Consequence! Yeah, I have a tendency to get really into an album and play it a lot (notice how many times the Andrew Hill Mosaic Select discs get played). My brother gave me the Lee Morgan album. I'm into it but haven't had a chance to get more of his stuff yet. I also haven't brought any of my vinyl over to the station to start playing that... Thanks for the suggestion! Quote
