jostber Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 (edited) Have been looking for this for some time, but it's not easy to get. Would greatly appreciate some tips here: http://www.amazon.de/Blues-Roy-Milton-Soli...0566&sr=1-6 http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/discography...&aid=575576 Edited April 7, 2008 by jostber Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Cannot find a track listing but would this have ANYTHING that cannot be found on the various Roy Milton CD's reisued by ACE in the U.K.? I didn't check if all the Ace reissues are still in print but they did quite a few of them so they should cover the ground rather well. Quote

I didn't check if all the Ace reissues are still in print but they did quite a few of them so they should cover the ground rather well. Ace, along with ZYX and N other record companies, lost the distributorship of Fantasy material when Concord passed it over to Universal. However, the three Roy Milton CDs issued by Fantasy on Specialty, along with a "Profiles" album, are still available from Concord. http://www.concordmusicgroup.com/artists/Roy-Milton/ Roy's output was astoundingly consistent. If you like him, you need all three of those Specialty CDs. MG Quote
paul secor Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Steve and MG are right. Unless there's material on the P-Vine from the Roy Milton/Miltone or Hamp-Tone labels, you can get a great deal of his Specialty and Juke Box recordings from Concord - at least for the present - and forget the P-Vine. jostber Posted April 8, 2008 Author Report Posted April 8, 2008 Well, I like Roy Milton a lot! I have got those three Ace Specialty CD's and fine they are, but I like those P-Vine collections(have some others), and they have great song selections and sound, so I would like to find this one too.
