alocispepraluger102 Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) i found this part particularly interesting: "Richard Greenfield, an analyst at Pali Research, has predicted that Warner and other music companies could come under further pressure if major retailers such as Wal-Mart opt to cut back the amount of floor space they devote to compact discs. In a sign of the sector's desperation, EMI this month threatened to cut funding by half for trade bodies such as the Recording Industry Association of America that lead the industry's fight against piracy and direct its lobbying efforts." http://www.alleyinsider.com/2008/4/ ft_citi..._happy_about_it://http://www.alleyinsider.com/2008/4/..._happy_about_it://http://www.alleyinsider.com/2008/4/..._happy_about_it http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/02104870-9e1d-11...?nclick_check=1 Edited April 13, 2008 by alocispepraluger102 Quote
GA Russell Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 I was in Walmart maybe a month ago, and all of the CDs I saw on display were budget lines priced at $6.45 or something. It's hard for me to imagine judging from the Walmart we have here that Walmart is the #1 or #2 music retailer in the country. Quote
