Thought you'd like to know:

The great Vision Festival concert of BILL DIXON and THE SOUND VISION ORCHESTRA from Vision Festival XII (summer 2007) will be broadcast in its entirety on SOME REAL MUSIC the next two Wednesday nights (5/7 & 14) at midnight in Manhattan on Time Warner cable channel 57, RCN cable channel 84 and worldwide on the web at MNN.org (on lower left of home page, select channel 57 under "Watch MNN Live"). The concert is a near one hour length composition -- a world premiere -- composed especially for this event. The orchestra includes many great improvising musicians -- both well-established and up-and-coming -- such as Warren Smith, Jackson Krall, Steve Swell, Karen Borca, Joe Daley, Dick Griffin, J.D. Parran, Taylor Ho Bynum and many more. "Transcendent" is just one of many adjectives that can describe the concert -- one that all modern music enthusiasts should want to see. Kind regards to all,

". . . it is possible that the lover of music may be tempted to keep to a certain sort of music and will not rise further. The true way of progressing through music is to evolve freely, to go forward, not caring what others may think, and in this way, together with one's development in music, to harmonize the life of one's soul, one's surroundings and one's affairs. If only we would listen to the voice of all the beauty that attracts us in any form, we would find that in every aspect it tells us that behind all manifestation is the perfect Spirit, the Spirit of wisdom." -- Hazrat Inayat Khan, The Mysticism of Sound and Music

I had trouble getting the web variant of the station to work, though some of you may have luck (if so, let me know!) ...
