woozyflynation Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Hey Hey Hey!! You must have a listen to Jazz artist Marcia Ball if you have not already. She has these sensational vocals that just makes you want to keep listening to her. Check out her recent performance at the Highline Ballroom in NYC exclusively on www.woozyfly.com/marciaball Quote
Hot Ptah Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I have heard a lot of Marcia Ball's recordings and have seen her live. As a New Orleans classic R&B style pianist she is quite good. I wouldn't call her a jazz musician. I like her music. If you are a publicist of some type for her, your over the top presentation in your first post here is not going to impress people on this forum. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 That's right. We're not impressed with over the top posts until the first dozen under the top have been posted. Quote

GA Russell Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I saw her at the 1991 New Orleans Jazzfest. I would say that she had the crowd rockin' more than any other artist at the festival. Quote
Ron S Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 I saw Marcia Ball in Austin at the Broken Spoke, I think it was, in the late 1970s. Mighty fine, as I recall. I'd be more over the top about it, but I'm not O.T.T.-licensed yet. Quote
