porcy62 Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I already have those I like. Maybe someone could be interesed. Some are nice ones. http://www.ecmrecords.com/News/Special_Off...ainrubchooser=2 Quote
michel1969 Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) Too bad the Terje Rypdal titiles are so few... "After the Rain" and "Odyssey" are classics IMO. They are worth a vinyl reissue. Conference of the Birds, too. The Mal Waldron (ECM 1001 !) should be reissued too.... And Leo Smith's "Divine Love" !! And "Circle" And... and... Obviously, each of us will complain that something is missing. This list make me feel like giving a spin to some ECMs. Maybe tomorrow. Edited May 24, 2008 by Michel Quote
.:.impossible Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I don'y have any of these. How are the Lester Bowie albums? I was hoping to see Bright Size Life and Dreams So Real. Quote
sidewinder Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I don'y have any of these. How are the Lester Bowie albums? 'I Only Have Eyes For You' is a late 1980s offering with the Brass Fantasy. Not bad at all - certainly worth checking out (but admittedly not an all-time classic though). Bought this one around the time of 'Avant Pop', also on ECM. Quote

Agree about Terje Rypdal. Fortunately ECM aren't such demanding priced like other labels, I can find used ECM in the less-then-10-euros bin. Edited May 25, 2008 by porcy62 Quote
paul secor Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 On many (most?) ECMs, the pressings outshine the music. Quote
