Michael Weiss Posted June 21, 2008 Author Report Posted June 21, 2008 (edited) please list address to send $$$ for those of us who cannot attend. Valerie, Here's some info I found: "For those who cannot attend but would like to contribute, you can do so to the Jazz Foundation of America, please make a note on your check and your envelope that it is for Ronnie Mathews and if you use the Pay Pal at the Foundation's web site: www.jazzfoundation.org, there is a place where you can note it is for Ronnie Mathews. Please note that if there is money left over after Ronnie's needs have been met, then it is the wish of the family that any funds go to the Jazz Foundation to help other musicians in crisis." sidewinder Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Anyone else here see Ronnie when he was touring with T.S. Monk years ago? It seems so long ago, and of course it was happening long before that too. I saw him with the TS Monk group - gig in Edmonton, Alberta around 1995. And fabulous it was too ! A rear thrill to catch him in concert after diggin' his work on Blue Note with Morgan, Hubbard etc for so many years. What I do recall (as well has swinging like crazy) was the shear hard graft he put into that gig. Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) His work with Woody Shaw, too, though the McCoy influence is pretty heavy throughout the entire band. Edited June 24, 2008 by Lazaro Vega Quote
