chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 just got there for the end of the set, but it was AWESOME. when i got there they were in the middle of stolen moments. then they did a song called rio funk. lee was saying how when they recorded it, it was like one of the 1st ever direct to digital albums, and it all had to be mixed live on the spot. then they took the tapes to this like weird lab, where these guys in white lab coats did stuff with the tapes to get it onto disc. he said it was a far cry from the i-pod. lastly they did patrice rushens biggest hit, "forgot me nots" which was a huge it and iconic song. i think i might try n go back sun. for the whole show! jlhoots Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Who's playing bass? Several months ago I saw / heard Patrice with Abe Laboriel. Thought I was going to hate it. I liked it!! Quote
sidewinder Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Saw Patrice in a Miles tribute years ago with Bennie Maupin (on bass clarinet), Wallace Roney, Adam Holzman and Lennie White. It rocked ! Quote
