Tom in RI
Going by allmusic (not always the last word, I know) I don't think there has been a straight reissue of this record. I think it is available in pieces on cd.

michel1969
In those glorious cassette (and iron curtain !) days, i had recorded a fantastic Abdullah Ibrahim concert broadcasted from Poland. He played with Carlos Ward. Extraordinaire !!! it was in september 1983. Do you have any information about this concert ? ever been (re)issued ? or similar line up session ? i still have the cassette... but i'd like to upgrade. ...thank you in advance

Recorded Nov. 17, 1983 at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Yes, this is the same as the German Blackhawk CD I mentioned earlier. But, looking at the track timings, they're different from the ones you've quoted. I've edited my earlier post to show what's on my CD. I checked these timings against what shows on the CD player when I put the disc in and those times are all a few seconds longer than what's quoted on the CD sleeve - allowing for space between tracks. There was a German (Bellaphon) CD issue, which I've got, on the Blackhawk label, which I think is the same as the original Ekapa issue. Tracks are Ekaya 7:56 Sotho blue 5:55 Ntyilo, ntyilo 4:37 Bra timing from Phomolong 5:18 Ek se ou Windhoek tou nou 8:20 Cape Town 7:10 This edition has a mainly red sleeve with a b/w drawing in the middle. MG MG So I don't know. It's odd. Perhaps the timings on the LP sleeve aren't accurate. MG
robviti
i guess i didn't read your reply close enough, mg. i was aware that blackhawk had released ekaya on lp, but i didn't realize you owned a cd reissue. the lp-listed timings may indeed be off. all i know is that this is my favorite ibrahim recording, and it would be nice to see it widely available on cd.
