The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I like Bernard Purdie's soundtrack to "Lialeh" best of the ones I've got. Next comes Charles Earland's "The dynamite brothers" and Jimbo's "Black Caesar". Grant Green's "The final comedown" has a few good cuts but overall it's not up to much. The Blackbyrds "Cornbread Earl & me" has some pretty good bits, too. MG Quote
HolyStitt Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Any merit to this recording?? - which I see The Bastards™ sometimes have in stock (though quite expensively -- so my obvious follow-up will be: is this really worth $25??). Young-Holt Unlimited -- Young-Holt Unlimited Plays Super Fly . . . CD . . . $24.99 (Item: 42801) P-Vine (Japan), 1973 Condition: New Copy View Cart It's been years since I heard it, but I recall the prospect being better then when actually listening to the record. ... but then again it was years ago.
