TheTowner Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Greetings all, Having a sound issue and am in need of help. Here we go. Equipment: Gateway GT5662, Windows Vista Home Premium, Ion Turntable. Trouble: When the turntable (USB) is plugged in, all sound stops coming from the computer. Unplug the turntable, reboot, and the sound returns. That is my first issue. Is there a way to get the computer not to shut off sound so I can use the turntable. Next. While trying to figure this out myself, I did the usual unplug, reboot, but this time no sound returned and I find myself in a bind. I have: Checked all physical connections. They are fine Checked setting for MUTE.....nothing is on Mute Did a sytem restore....no change Dug into my sound card settings, check System>sound card setting....all fine Any ideas/help would be appreciated before I turn this computer into a boat anchor Thanks ahead of time...............Towner Quote
Clunky Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Check what soundcard is being used, you probably need to change input/output sound card settings to the sound card on the TT rather than the PC's own sound card. Quote
