oneofanotherkind Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 Can anyone recommend a guitar tuner ? I know zilch. The last time I played an instrument ( 20 years ago , not a guitar ) I used a tuning fork. Now the world has gone ultra high tech. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 The best one money can buy is this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StroboStomp2/ Peterson has been making strobe piano tuners for years. This is a really great guitar tuner. Quote

Actually , I'm a beginner on acoustic guitar ... would this even be appropriate for tunin' my six strings ? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 If it has a 1/4" output, yes. If not, they make these cool tuners that clip on to the headstock of the guitar that work pretty well. Something like this: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Divisions/Maes...talGuitarTuner/ Quote

Otherwise, the tuner would have to generate a pitch you can hear and tune to. These are awesome for acoustics with no pickup... Clip On Tuner Quote
AllenLowe Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 where are you located? There's a guy in Boston who's pretty good, but if he has to do any traveling he gets expensive - Quote
