New Proper sets......

I just ordered the Stitt and Tristano. What's the verdict on these? I know the Tristano doesn't duplicate any of the material from the Mosaic set.

I've been very happy with the Proper sets I've ordered thus far.

Now I must save up for the Eldridge Mosaic. And the Amy and Pearson selects. Still haven't gotten the Chambers and Patton. Must........own..........EVERYTHING!!!

Will it never end? I hope not. B)

..... and just when you thought you had seen the glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.....along comes mention of the 'Jazz In Paris' 75CD set and its smaller 25CD brethren. Not to mention the two impending OOP Mosaics..

Time to go down to the blood bank....

It's out of control, in my opinion. First there the Mosaics from late September, a new MJQ set, now a few more Mosaics, more Propers. HEEEEEELP!

I have the Stitt and Tristano sets on ice, so to speak. They're a holiday present from my wife. I mentioned ordering these from the Proper website in an AAJ thread and I was informed that CD Universe gives one a better deal. Alas, it's true, but I'll save face because I can order the Proper Wardell Gray box from there. You know, some day when I've got the money.

noticed that for people like me who are toying with the idea of getting the Tristano set and can't make up their minds, BBC radio 3 are doing Lennie Tristano on Jazz Legends this friday 16.00 - 17.00.
