medjuck
I purchased this cd from Amazon but it has no information on it except the names of some participants without saying what numbers they play on. I found out a fair amount by Googling but none that gave a session by session breakdown. BTW I got this because of a mention in the booklet from the new Mosaic Armstrong. It referred to "Yes Suh" with Pee Wee Russell and Red Allen. They do play on most of the cuts though Pee Wee is on tenor for many of them. From my Google search I see that there was once a cd from Collectors' Classics under Billy Banks's name that contained most of this material but I presume it's oop. I have all the material on a Billy Banks disc on Classics coupled with a Red Allen on Neatworks (32 tracks with alternates). I first became a fan of this stuff from an English, CBS/Realm lp in the '60s. I'll see if I can get you a complete list. What label issued your cd? I see what it is now. Get back soon with details. All wonderful stuff. Edited June 10, 2009 by Chuck Nessa

Harold_Z
What a great set! I've had this material since the early 80s. First on a Tax lp then on various cd issues. I Can't remember where, but I've heard Pee Wee's tenor solo on "I Would Do Anything For You" referred to as the first Rock and Roll Tenor solo. I've often contemplated the possibility that this body of work was the prototype for the Fats Waller and His Rhythm sessions that were to follow.
