Noticed on the DG website that they are promoting a "Sidewalk Sale" on the 15th. I had a crazy idea of getting a cheap weekend fare to Chicago and checking it out. Does anyone know any of the details (what genres are included, new, used, etc)?

They used to do Basement Sales. Mostly crud but a few gems could be found. My friend got a few nice FMPs that seemed to be "accidentally thrown in" to the $1 boxes.

He brought 'em back two weeks later and Dusty bought them at collector prices, then charged $40 a pop on the site.

I would assume this would be a mixture of promos, dead stock, and used items that they haven't been able to move. Also dreck from collections that doesn't hit the floor.

I wouldn't hold my breath hoping for FMPs and the like. I went to a bunch of these and yes, bought a lot of stuff, but there is a lot of dross, depending upon your tastes. Cliff is spot on. Plus the crowds/lines were/will be pretty over the top.
