AmirBagachelles Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I think they have seen the light - used jazz is a good walk-in business. They know the content pretty well, and the end-to-end variety is terrific, much better than Academy. They have 300-400 discs in their used jazz bin now, about 5x the usual size. Everything I saw was $2.99 (e.g. Three Blind Mice vol. 2), up to $7.99 per disc (e.g. Woody Shaw Bemsha Swing $9.99). Great selection, I am going back! Quote
BeBop Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Right across the street from the old Broadway Tower. Is there more at Other Music now than there used to be, or was just a recent discovery for you? Quote

BeBop Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Great. Thanks. Not sure when I'll be in New York again (other than JFK airport next week ) Quote
Hoppy T. Frog Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I have a suspicion their expanded selection may be a defunct store's old stock. Quote
seeline Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 And/or the result of a big collection or two having been sold to them... Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 They used to sell stuff that you could buy online for like half the price from Dusty Groove. I always wondered who they were fooling. Quote

AmirBagachelles Posted August 22, 2009 Author Report Posted August 22, 2009 I have wanted both at a decent price for a long while. The Shaw was ridiculous, best used find for me in a long time. Quote
