Although this is a wonderfully designed building, it was always my least favorite NY museum. Speaking as a lifelong New Yorker, of course.

Yeah; it seems like a nice building to look at in itself perhaps, but not an ideal way to look at paintings. And really, isn't that the ultimate function of an art museum, to provide a good space to look at art?

I have always found the art displayed there to be, shall we say, lacking.
