Yes.

But it was interesting that the flugelhorn player played two completely different solos on the different performances of "Swingin' safari".

The trouble with people like that is, some of them are pretty good, really :D

But I did love the massed handclaps of the vocal group.

Oh and the later vocal group, with the men all in white, getting ready for a cricket match, no doubt.

Oh yeah, absolutely. That guy's charts sounded a lot simpler to play than they would be in terms of balance, blend, etc. No slouches allowed. And a lot of it had an underlying swing that people who couldn't swing just couldn't come up with. Great music and great musicianship only sometimes coincide.

I'm just tripped out by the staging...

Something of an easy listening / lounge pioneer, Kaempfert also had some marginal involvement with The Beatles when they were in Hamburg. As Walt Disney says, "it's a small world after all." I think his biggest hit was Wonderland By Night.
