Geez, Ghost (highly appropriate name considering the Halloween festivities) I hope you're planning to include Haunted Heart. There are lots of nice versions of this tune, Charlie Haden and Eddie Higgins come immediately to mind, but there's no treatment that comes close to equaling that of '40's and '50's songstress extraordinaire, Jo Stafford. I first heard her sing this as the coda to the Chinatown sequel, The Two Jakes and I've been wholly enamored of it ever since. Say it's so Joe...say that you're going to include this tune.

Up over and out.

It is the last song programmed for the "Haunted Love Songs" Afterglow, and it is indeed Jo Stafford's recording that I used--concludes the show.

Although after last night I'm considering replacing it with "The Ballad of Cliff Lee."

Thanks for the inspiration, David. Played "Old Devil Moon," "Ghost of a Chance," "That Old Devil Called Love," "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered," as well as Philly Joe's "Blues for Dracula" and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross's "Halloween Spooks" this morning. Hard to program a "spooky" show from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Ended with a new record by drummer Pete Siers featuring a "toccata and fugue" organ approach to "Melody for Melonae." My kids are practically chewing on the computer asking for an emoticon. Scary: :rhappy:
