a french reissue label is going to reissue in 2010 a series of blue note albums going the analog route and avoiding digital remastering. the first batch comprises bobby hutcherson's now, a.t.'s delight, duke pearson's wahoo, andrew hill's lift every voice a.o. "Their 09/10 release slate will see no less than 24 long gone Blue Note albums hit record stores once again for the first time since their original release, with the first wave of high quality 180g vinyls and their painstakingly duplicated original artwork already in some finer record stores just in time for Christmas.!

they say they want to avoid classics and already reissued items and concentrate on soul jazz and similars, although their first batch includes some titles which have already gotten the rvg tratment. but since they got access to the bn masters maybe there are more never seen titles to come. for a start wahoo is good. i have it as a japanese mini-lp, but it's good to see it reissued on a french label. and now too. they say they got the help from michael cuscuna, bruce lundvall and somebody from bn france. i think they will be centered on vinyls but maybe they also do cds. i think the difference regarding EMI rvgs will be their "analogness" and the cover restoration. read the whole story here.
