vajerzy Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Don't know the name, nor the composer, nor the player- but it's a pop instramental that is a pop organ, may have the word "summer" in it...came out in the 1960s I believe- my Mom wants it on her new Ipod and she relies on me for music suggestions- but I'm stuck....anyone help me?? The Magnificent Goldberg Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Jack McDuff made a record of "Summer samba", too. From the LP "Do it now". That was a quintet version, with 2 saxes/flutes. Is the record your mother's thinking of one with an orchestra or a small group? MG Quote

vajerzy Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) That's It!!! Thanks guys!! It's the Walter Wanderley version. My Mom played that alot around the house. MG- I don't know the Jack McDuff version- I doubt my Mom does either- she has never been into jazz. Thanks again! Mike Edited December 30, 2009 by vajerzy Quote
Noj Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Coincidentally, Walter Wanderley "Summer Samba" was sampled to create the De La Soul song "Super MC's," the opening track to their Stakes Is High album. Quote
