GA Russell Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Art Pepper's Road Game was released as an OJC in 1993. A label called A Riff Supreme has very recently made it available on Lala for only 36 cents! It's a terrific album! http://www.lala.com/#album/1657606138340707159/Art_Pepper/Road_Game http://www.amazon.com/Roadgame-Art-Pepper/dp/B000000YZ3/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1263016003&sr=1-1 Quote
Spontooneous Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Do we know that A Riff Supreme is doing these reissues ethically? Quote
GA Russell Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 Spontooneous, I don't know anything about the record label. But I know that lala.com is owned by Apple. I can't believe that Steve Jobs would let it sell merchandise it didn't have the legal right to. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Geez! Get a grip man. The music publishing is more than the asking price. Quote
David Ayers Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 That's the streaming cost, right? Different world. Quote
GA Russell Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 David, yes. Lala is a cloud computing operation. For 36 cents you "own" the album as long as lala remains in business, and can stream it as often as you like. Quote
