Lazaro Vega Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Happy Birthday to the great pianist Cecil Taylor, our featured artist tonight on Jazz From Blue Lake. We'll focus from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Tayor's recordings from 1956 through 1962, the early period. Including "Of What" and "Cindy's Main Mood," early examples of entirely free jazz. Hope you can join us. Eastern DAYLIGHT time. www.bluelake.org/radio (MAC users please try "shoutcast" which opens in I-tunes; otherwise there's a Windows Media Player).I see other sources point to March 25th as his birthday. Oh well, let's get the party started early! Quote
paul secor Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Happiest of Birthday Wishes to Mr. Taylor (or ten days later if March 25th is correct). He is one of the treasures of our world. I consider myself blessed that I heard him play live on a number of occasions. Quote
