papsrus Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Thanks for sharing those. Love the close-up shots of some of the instruments. Sounds as though you had a wonderful time. Quote
Adam Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 You are correct. One should never use a flash during the concert. It means needing a faster lens, or a digital camera that will allow itself to be set at 1600 ASA. Not true of many. Mine maxes at 400 ASA. Quote

Lazaro Vega Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Yeah man! They had me at the downbeat. Loved what you wrote with the photos, too. Ralph's patience is an important part of making this music work -- figuring out how to fit into the complexity of Adam's rhythms. He'll take his time, play a long tone. Rest. Repeat it. Rest, repeat it, then sound a second note maybe a 3rd away (or a 4th or 5th, whatever worked). And, eventually, he'll decorate those tonal areas with virtuosostic improvisation. But it isn't up there first -- it's waiting to find out where to use it best. As Adam said when I mentioned this observation, "That's why he has the gig!" Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) While they were in town they picked up a bunch of Nessa cds for tunes on the road. edit to add I got a couple new discs from them too. Folks should search out Adam's projects. I've known him since the '70s and his journey is very interesting. Edited April 28, 2010 by Chuck Nessa Quote
